Park Board Moves Forward with Splashpad Project!

At its June meeting, the Board voted unanimously to begin the design process and purchase a new splashpad for Evans Park to provide residents with some much needed wet and cool relief from the summer heat.  The District is working with Aquatix, a leading manufacturer in the industry, and looks forward to offering this exciting new park amenity to the community.  Click here to see the design:

This project was made possible through your support of 5A this past November, which provided continued funding for the District.  Thanks for your support!

Welcome to the EPR Community!

Please Pick-Up Your Dog Waste.

As you will notice, the District has installed new pet waste stations throughout the parks.  While we love dogs as much as you, please help keep the parks clean of dog waste and pick up after your pet.  And remember, no dogs are allowed on athletic fields.  Thanks for your cooperation.

In late 2017, the Park Board directed staff to develop and install an 18-hole disc golf course in Evans Park to offer another recreational activity for the community.  Staff worked with local players Cameron Burrow and Jeremy Priest to design the first 9 holes this Spring, and they are now open for play.  Tee Boxes are still being installed, so yellow flags currently mark the tee area.  An additional 9 holes will be installed in the near future as the District completes an environmental review process within the park.

The course takes players through the wooded north portion of Evans Park and offers a variety of challenging throws.  The first tee is located just off the parking area for the pond.  See the course map here Prickly Pines Disc Golf Course Map.pdf or pick one up at the Park Office.

Please be respectful of this special natural environment when playing by minimizing your impact and by packing out all litter / trash.  Also, watch your steps and avoid the prickly pear cactus throughout the area.  Be considerate of other park users by using a spotter on blind throws, and avoid smoking while on the course due to the potential of wildfires.

Want to play but not sure you want to invest in a set of discs?  You can now rent a set of discs (driver, midrange, putter) at the park office for a low fee.  The park office is open Monday through Friday from 9am until 5pm.  No rentals are available outside of these days / times.

Whether you are a seasoned veteran player or someone who has never played at all, come on out and let us know what you think of the course!
